DARLINGTON – The Johnson Public Library has many events for the public to enjoy. McCoy Public Library
SHULLSBURG – Fall-A-Days Story Hour at McCoy Public Library is for children 3 years old-5K.  We will meet on Tuesdays from 4-5 p.m. Oct. 3 - Nov. 14. Each week will have a variety of engaging stories, creative crafts and fun activities!  Anyone who has preregistered for our quilting class we will meet from 6-8 p.m. on Nov. 7 & 14 to make your own table runner! Story Hour for children 3 years old-5K is Tuesday, Nov. 7 and 14 from 4-5 p.m. School is out early on Nov. 10 so the children can join us at 1:15 p.m. for a fun movie and craft. Families can come to McCoy Public Library on Nov. 16 from 6-7 p.m to make puppets! On Nov. 22 there will be an early release movie at 1:15 p.m.
Community Blood Drive
LAFAYETTE COUNTY - The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center encourages eligible donors to resolve to give blood regularly. Donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types AB, O, B negative and A negative. For questions about eligibility, please call the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center at (800) 747-5401. Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour.  Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure may be accepted as eligible donors. The MVRBC is the exclusive provider to Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County.

Darlington Food Pantry
DARLINGTON – The monthly Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry will take place on Friday, Nov. 3. The pantry is held in the lower level of Town Bank. There are no income requirements for those wishing to participate. Volunteers are needed from 3 p.m. to help unload the truck to 6 p.m. clean up. Distribution of food is from 4-5 p.m. You cannot be a volunteer and receive food. Volunteers can help with all or any part of the pantry. To volunteer simply come to to the pantry and register as a volunteer or contact Carrie at 608-293-0791.
Lord’s Acre Auction
FAYETTE – Stop out at the Fayette United Methodist Church for their Lord’s Acre Auction on Saturday, Nov. 4 with lunch at 11 a.m. and the auction at 12:30 p.m. Some items on the auction list include: lefse, solar lights, quilts, cookies & candies, cheese, plush throws, yard ornaments, baked goods, sweatshirts, gift baskets, gift certificates, crafts, stuffed toys and much more.
Lafayette County Historical Society
DARLINGTON – On Sunday, Nov. 5, Richard Haney will present his story at the Lafayette County Historical Society quarterly meeting, to be held at Town Bank in Darlington at 1:30 p.m. His story is about his father, Clyde Haney and his wife during WWII as they sent letters back and forth during his time before he was killed in the Battle of the Bulge. Also a scrapbook kept by a local woman Katie Evenstad of newspaper clippings, cards and letters from the servicemen and women who served in WWII from Lafayette County.
Yellowstone Lutheran Church Annual Norwegian Dinner
ARGYLE – Make plans to attend the Yellowstone Lutheran Church Annual Family Style Norwegian Dinner on Sunday, Nov. 5, serving will be from noon until 4 p.m. The menu will include such Norwegian delicacies as rommegrot, klub, Norwegian meatballs, lefse, fattigman, stroll, rosettes and all the trimmings. Yellowstone Lutheran Church is located 6 miles southwest of Blanchardville or 6 miles northwest of Argyle (near Yellowstone Lake State Park) on 4472 Saints Road. WATCH FOR SIGN WITH BALLOONS! Roast Beef Dinner
LAMONT – The Lamont United Methodist Church will be having their Roast Beef Dinner on Tuesday, Nov. 7, serving at noon. The meal is served family style and will cost $12. Menu includes roast beef, mashed potatoes, green beans, homemade pies and salads.
Argyle Public Library
ARGYLE – At the Argyle Public Library Wednesday, Nov. 8 from 4-5 p.m. it is their Crafternoon for kids ages 6-12, making a “Melted Crayon Art”. On Thursday, Nov. 9, the Argyle School is out but the library is open so from 2-4 p.m. there will be board games and pizza at the library! Come join in the fun.
UCC Women’s Guild
DARLINGTON – The Women’s Guild of Immanuel United Church of Christ will be holding their monthly meeting on Thursday, Nov. 9 at noon. Committee will be Stacy Kammes, chair; Jenny Jenson, co-chair; Penny Walter, Amy Jenson, Janice Schadewalt, Daphne Milestone, Christa Jenson, Jean Stauffacher, Betsy Ellefson, and Betty Williams. Everyone is welcome to join us for a fun afternoon.
Daughters of the American Revolution
MONROE – The Colonel Benjamin Harrison Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is having a quarterly meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 1 p.m., in the downstairs meeting room of the First National Bank on the square in Monroe.  The public is welcome to attend the free program on some interesting Civil War stories.  Also anyone interested in the DAR in southwest Wisconsin is welcome.  We are happy to answer questions regarding membership or activities.  Refreshments will be served.  For more information call 482-2483.
