Krentz hands in resignation

 Catherine Krentz, former administrator of the Lafayette Manor in Darlington who had been on administrative leave since Aug. 31 recently handed in her resignation.
    The Lafayette Manor Committee formally accepted the resignation at their meeting on Thursday, Nov. 15.
    The manor committee had been working with an attorney to draw up an agreement of mutual separation between Krentz and the manor, however she did not wish to comply with the agreement that was produced and instead handed in a resignation.
    Krentz has been charged with official use of position for personal financial gain, a class U forfeiture, which would result in no more than a $1,000 fine. Her plea and sentencing hearing will take place on Nov. 21 at 9 a.m.
    The deadline for applications for the new combined position of Lafayette Manor administrator and Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County administrator is Monday, Nov. 19. Some applications for the position have already come in.
    The applications that have been recieved will be reviewed at the Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County board meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 20.
