MONROE COUNTY – The May meeting, the Monroe County Climate Change Task Force will be expanded to two meetings on Wednesday, May 5, for the purpose of kicking off a ‘Monroe County Climate Readiness and Rural Economic Opportunity Assessment.’

With focus in the nation and the state shifting to investment in climate resilient and clean energy infrastructure, Monroe County is taking steps to position themselves to take advantage of anticipated funding opportunities. Having experienced the devastation from the rain event that led to the historic 2018 flood event, the county has adopted a ‘time is of the essence,’ proactive approach.
