Platteville police are investigating a report of an armed robbery in a downtown apartment Thursday.

Police said the robbery was reported Thursday afternoon, after it occurred  in a Main Street apartment around midnight.

The victims reported that three masked men, one armed with a handgun, entered the apartment and told the occupants to lay on the floor. At least one of the robbers took “various belongings,” police said.

The robbery report came six weeks after a report of an armed robbery at a Fox Ridge Road residence Feb. 12, in which the victims reported being robbed by three masked men, one with a handgun and one with a rifle. Wallets and other items were taken in that robbery. Police said that residence was “possibly targeted based on past relationships.”
