Three pet owners cited

Platteville police have dealt with a number of animal complaints recently.

Russell White, 57, Platteville, was cited for allowing an animal to run at large Thursday morning. Police were called to Moonlight Drive after a call to police that a dog had attacked a member of the caller’s family, causing her to be knocked down.

Kay M. Dean, 45, Platteville, was cited for a habitual barking-dog ordinance violation after a complaint on the 900 block of Madison Street Oct. 22 around 11:40 p.m.

Cole Richard Cushman, 33, Platteville, was cited for allowing an animal to run at large Nov. 5. According to police, a business owner said a cat had been hanging around the front of his store on an ongoing basis. The cat returned to a house, and police spoke a person to a house who was not the cat’s owner. According to police, another cat that wandered onto the business property was taken to Platteville Veterinary Clinic.
