Platteville police are seeking two women in connection with passing, or attempted passing of counterfeit $100 bills Wednesday.

Several businesses reported that they had received counterfeit $100 bills, or that a woman tried to use a counterfeit $100 bill.

The first suspect is described as a black female, with medium height and build, and long hair. Police said she appeared to have an accomplice at one business, a white female with long blonde hair.

Police said business employees should pay attention to large bills being offered, particularly $100 bills. If the employee doubts whether the cash is legitimate, police suggest asking for a different form of payment or ask a coworker for a second opinion.

Anyone with information about the bill-passing is asked to call police, 348-2313, or Grant County Crime Stoppers, 1-800-789-6600.
