Edith M. Riechers, 92, of Belmont died on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018 at Manor Care, Platteville. Funeral services will be at Noon, Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018 at Peace Lutheran Church, Belmont. Rev. Connie Matye will officiate. Burial will be at the Belmont Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Edith M. Edith was born on Sept. 18, 1925 in Lancaster, daughter of Clarence and Rethel (Pritchett) Henry. She was united in marriage to Russell E. Riechers on Nov. 26, 1946 in Belmont. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2007. Edith and Russell farmed in Kendall Township area their entire lives. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, playing golf and bowling.
Edith is survived by five children: Jerry (Linda) Riechers, Steve (Cheryl Touchett) Riechers, Gene (Kathy) Riechers, Marsha (Ross) Stein, and Lois Blackbourn; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren. Edith is further survived by Phyllis Curkeet, Kenneth Henry, Della Schaal, Stanley (Judy) Henry, Delores (Joe) Faherty, Roger (Nora) Henry, Marian Riechers, Marge (Don) Masbruch, Grace (Ron) Christen and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell, parents, Clarence and Rethel Henry, son-in-law, David Blackbourn; brothers, Edward, Harold, Wilbur, Lawrence, Roland and Marvin; brothers-in-law, Larry Schaal, Donald Riechers Gilbert Riechers, Vincent Donahoe and Lloyd Curkeet; sisters-in-law, Pearl Henry, Iva Donahoe, and Kay Riechers.
