The first game of regional action for the North Crawford Trojans boys basketball team was apparently an easy one as the Ithaca Bulldogs were dropped 82-47 on Tuesday, Feb. 19.

The Trojans were playing Ithaca for the third time this season, but the old adage that you can’t beat the same team three times in a year didn’t hold water as North Crawford solidly defeated Ithaca.

North Crawford jumped out to a 25-6 first period lead and never took their foot off the gas. By the end of the third period the score was 68-27, and there was no way the Bulldogs were going to make a comeback.

The game saw balanced scoring for the Trojans. It was an overall great team effort by North Crawford.

Junior Cody Hershberger led the team in scoring with 14 points and five rebounds. Joe Childs added 13 points and had four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Tyler Olson saw 13 points with five rebounds and two steals while Joe Bedessem saw ten points, eight assists, and four rebounds. Eric Friar rounded out scoring with eight points with three rebounds and four steals.
