ONTARIO — The Hillsboro girls cross country team swept the top three spots at Saturday’s Brookwood Lloyd Luethe-Dustin Levy Memorial Invitational.

Despite Hillsboro dominance of the top three spots, the host Falcons (45 points) were able to win the girls team title by placing five runners in the top 15 to edge the Tigers by two points.

Hillsboro finished second with 47 team points. Cashton was a distant third with 88 points.

The Hillsboro boys also finished second out of 11 complete teams to host Brookwood on Saturday, 35–43.

Junior Dakota Wells finished second out of 104 runners in the boys’ race with a time of 19:21.3. Senior Zach O’Hair also medaled, finishing fifth at 19:52.

Last Tuesday the Hillsboro girls finished third at the six-team Holmen Invitational despite running without Haas. The Hillsboro boys were also without their top runner (Wells) and finished fourth.

The Tigers are now in the midst of a 10-day break between competitions. Hillsboro will return to action Tuesday at the Wisconsin Dells Invitational
