High expectations are commonplace for the Hillsboro volleyball team.

Fresh off a 37–12 season in which they won a third straight Scenic Bluffs Conference (SBC) volleyball title, Coach Mark Sullivan and his Tigers aren’t planning on letting up anytime soon.

Gone are first-team All-SBC performers Hilary Stanek, Kelli Janecek and Ali Brey, but Hillsboro returns four starters from l

ast year’s 37-win team.
Senior middle hitter Sami Levy, also a first-team All-SBC pick a year ago, and senior setter Kelsey Skala (honorable mention All-SBC) as well as the sophomore tandem of Tasha Mitchell (MH/OH, honorable mention) and Mackenzie Sullivan (S, honorable mention) to give the Tigers a solid foundation to build around.

The Tigers opened the season at the two-day UW–Oshkosh Tournament Tuesday and Wednesday. Results will be in next week’s Sentry Enterprise.

Hillsboro will open SBC play next Thursday (9/5) at home against New Lisbon.

Cross Country will run at Cashton on Friday

The Hillsboro cross country team opened the season Tuesday at Westby.

The Tigers will next compete at the Cashton Invitational on Saturday.

The Hillsboro boys team will be led by seniors Logan Rohn and Noah Mayberry. Both were state qualifiers a year ago.

The Lady Tigers lost five runners from last year’s SBC championship team. Junior Adrianna Reese and sophomore Breanna Beaver will lead the pack this fall.
