Junior Keegan Kamps placed fourth at sectionals in the discus with a toss of 1069 to earn a return trip to the WIAA Division 3 State Track & Field Championships.

     BOSCOBEL — Belmont’s Tucker Wedig, Jordyn Kamps and Keegan Kamps will all be returning to the WIAA State Track and Field Championships this weekend at UW–La Crosse.
     Each punched their ticket on Friday at the WIAA Division 3 Bosocbel Sectional.
     Wedig, who has had a record-breaking season in the shot put, qualified for this year’s Division 3 state meet in both the shot and discus by winning sectional titles in both events.
     The junior standout won the sectional shot put title with a heave of 54–10¾. Wedig is the school record holder in the event, with a throw of 55–8 at the Fennimore Invitational on May 5. He is seeded second in the D3 shot put, which will be held Saturday morning.
     Wedig claimed the discus title with a throw of 161–4. He is seeded fourth out of 16 qualifiers entering Friday’s competition that will begin at 3 p.m.
     A year ago Wedig placed fifth at state in the discus (143–1) and sixth in the shot put (50–5).
     Senior Jordyn Kamps earned her third trip to state and second in a row, qualifying in the 100-meter-dash and 200 meters. She placed third in the 200 (:26.73) to automatically qualify and fifth in the 100 (:12.89) to earn an extra qualifier berth.
     The top four sectional finishers in each event automatically qualified for state.
     A year ago Kamps placed 13th in the 200 at state (:27.89). She also qualified for state in both the 100 and 200 as a freshman.
     Junior Keegan Kamps earned a return trip to state in the discus with a fourth-place throw of 106–9. A year ago she placed sixth at state with a mark of 111–0.
     She is seeded 14th entering the D3 discus competition that will begin Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
