She reported to the board that everything was running smoothly with the department. She also stated that the squad members would like to meet with the board to find out what the board expects from the squad.

Phil Townsend, a member of the Readstown Fire Department, stated that McCormick Electric is finishing their project at the fire station. He and other members of the fire department also would like to meet with board members to discuss what they expect from the fire department. He told the board that he had contacted other fire departments to see if they could borrow water, if the village needed it.

The Readstown Spring Clean Up date was set for May 10 with a rain date of May 17.

Readstown Police Chief Dale Winch gave his monthly report. He stated he has contacted village attorney Eileen Brownlee to begin the process of putting the Nelson property in the court system for violating the village junk ordinance.

Under the committee reports, the board will add to the employee handbook a weekend and on-call policy for the village employees.

The board met in closed session to discuss village employment. After reconvening to open session, the board set a March 19 meeting date to consider and act upon the public works job opening.
